Hi guys. I just got my new rMBP. I think it is mid 2014. I wonder if and when the late 2014 models be released?

there is 3 weeks left in 2014, I don't think there will be a late 2014. Next update should be summer 2015 with broadwell, or maybe even later if they skip broadwell and go to skylake

Got my Macbook yesterday, it's a late-2013 15" Retina (base 750m model with 2.3GHz/512/16gb)

First foray into OS X (I primarily got this computer for Xcode) and loving it!

Bit the bullet finally and picked up a late 2013 MBP, 4G RAM, 500GB HD, 10.9. I had been mulling between the i5/i7 upgrade for it but managed to snag a deal to get the unit for just under 900 with the i5. I really wanted to get this unit so I can upgrade the RAM in the future (and the rest of the computer instead of the Retina models) so I'm hoping this was a good choice overall.

Only issue so far is mistakenly pressing the 'get all the iSuite things on the AppStore' and having the App Store constantly tell me I can upgrade to Yosemite and upgrade my Garageband as well.

That and trying to decide if I should get the unit up to 10.9.5 or stay at lovely 10.9.4 for the time being. Other than that, it seems to run fine. Just working to figure out what browser and other things work best up here on Mavericks. (It's really kind of weird jumping up to 10.9 after being on Lion for so long.)

Why don't you want to upgrade to Yosemite?

I've just heard of a lot of different issues with wi-fi connections, higher fan usage, etc and I actually kinda wanted to try out Mavericks and see how it is first to be honest. I really like Mavericks so far (reminds me of Lion and since that was the last OS I used, it's rather nice.) so, as long as I'm happy here then I don't think I'll choose to upgrade right away?

Basically, I have the option to upgrade but I'm currently happy with Mavericks. Maybe I'll create a partition and test out Yosemite in the future though.

Ordered on 12/2 the special deal on appleinsider.com from Adorama rMBP 2.5/512GB/16GB/750M laptop w/Applecare and an Apple TV for 2440 shipped. I emailed them and they said should be ready second week of Dec. Still no laptop yet. Anyone have experience with them? Should I cancel and order from B&H?

I just came here to post my B&H order:15" 2.3/15GB/512GB NVIDIA GeForce GT 750M for $1999 free expedited shipping. It should be here in two days.

Just upgraded from a 2011 17" to a 2014 15". Lots to set up but I love the weight and size. Went for the top 512 GB model as I have a large music collection.

I am really excited that I just ordered the 13in rMBP, standard configuration, with the student discount. My 2010 white unibody macbook broke for good, and originally I was just going to get the non retina version. But when it got here I shipped it right back and ordered the retina instead. Ha, that's what I truly wanted and it's not much more $.

I am a graphic design student and consider it an investment for my future. Plus the screen is just amazing. I know it will run like a dream compared to my old macbook and I feel I don't need the upgrades. I have been known to be pretty rough with my laptops but I am determined to treat this baby right!

Haven't posted on this forum in ages, but just upgraded from an Early 2008 MBP to entry-level 15" MBP (Mid-2014) and wow, what an upgrade.

A lot of progress has been made in 6+ years =). But must say that my old MBP kept up quite well though and is still dear to me.

Really happy with my purchase, got it for $1699 from B&H.

Stoked!

Bought a new 13" 2014 i7/16GB/512GB with employee discount. First one duff pixels, replacement has pink tint on left of screen. Was about to call Apple to arrange another replacement but then saw a 13" 2014 i5 2.8 16GB/1TB on the refurb store so snagged that for about £30 above what I paid. Would rather have the 1TB storage than a few hundred extra points on geek bench :)

I just purchased a refurbished 13" MacBook Pro Retina 2.4GHz i5 256GB flash 8GB of ram from the Apple online store for $1251 after taxes. It included free next day shipping which was awesome. This will also be my first retina MacBook Pro. Upgrading from a 2012 MacBook Air which replaced my 2010 MacBook Pro. Pretty stoked!:apple:

Do you guys this the July 2014 MBRr refurb 2.6GHz 256GB 8GB for $1269 before tax is worth it over the one I ordered above? I'm going to be using a lot of Lightroom, but mostly web surfing and streaming music.

I have ordered the 15.4" rMBP 2.5ghz, 16gb Ram, 512 ssd, 750M and am picking it up tomorrow morning. I am very much looking forward to the conversion from PC to Mac and the new learning experiences.:D

Well having had my rMBP for nearly 3 weeks I can honestly say i love it. It performs effortlessly whatever task I ask it to do. It also plays WoW easily at high resolution without ever overheating or misbehaving.

No regrets buying one so far !!!

Just received and all looks good. No odd tints on the screen or dead pixels. Didn't win on the refurb lottery as I got what I ordered.

Finally time to put my early 2008 15" Macbook Pro out to rest. No actually I use it as a VPN for the TV. You get about 3 times the choice of movies when watching Netflix using a USA IP address through a VPN for example.

Just ordered the 13" 2.8 rMBP with 16GB of ram. Hopefully it will last me for at least 4 years.

One of the main reasons I chose the 13" over the 15 is weight and portability. I also decided to bite the bullet now instead of waiting because although the future sounds amazing, the current rMBPs are the end of the design line, with most of the major niggles and problems ironed out.

Skylake sounds incredible, but the 2nd generation which would interest me is too far away in the future. I once bought a first generation iMac, but sent 3 of them back due to issues. Just hope I escape the yellow and pink tint problems.
