Hi guys,

After trying everything, i still can't enable hdmi output on my NVIDIA GTX 560 graphic card.

Can somebody send me link to complete tutorial or to write correct steps how to enable HDMI audio on this card?

My specs are:

Intel i5 2500k

Gigabyte Z77-DS3H (ALC 887)

MSI NVIDIA GTX 560 (not ti version)

OSX Yosemite 10.10

MacPro 3.1 system definition.

Should i change system definition to enable this to work?

Thanks in advance.

Works fine with my GTX 570 in my Hackintosh using Clover but with the GTX 570 in my Mac Pro it doesn't work no matter what I try.

ATI Radeon HD 5750

This didn't work for me with my ATI Radeon HD 5750. I have a TV connected to my HDMI output and a monitor to the DVI. These work fine in Windows. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks.

Version 1.1 works on my 2006 Mac Pro with Yosemite using Pike's boot.efi.

Too, very too bad there is not the same for PNY NVidia cards
Can not get out of its HDMI audio .. with a Mac Pro running Yosemit

So ATI cards are more reliable than NVidia .. with a Mac Pro:eek: :(

It may be that the Quadro series of cards are NOT PHYSICALLY CAPABLE OF AUDIO OUT. These old original cards (4000 series) were designed for CAD/3D, and not for TV/video work.

Quadro 4000 only supports audio out via DisplayPort

Which output are you using to try & get audio out? From the spec page of the nVidia Quadro 4000, it lists audio out only from the DisplayPort output: nVidia Quadro 4000 (look at the "Specifications" tab and scroll down).

* PNY me send a adptateur of tests
Unfortunately it is a limitation of the operating system That Prevents this feature from working.

This HDMIAUdio fix has been working wonders for me up until today.

I am running a GTX 760 with Yosemite and today when NVIDIA released driver update 343.02.01f01 it broke the HDMIAudio fix. Tried rerunning the install script and rebooting but that did not fix the issue.

Any ideas?

Interesting note: I switch the driver from the web driver to the default driver via the preference pane, and the sound is working.

Would like to go back to the NVIDA driver if possible.

Worked with 10.10 and GTX 970 but has an odd bug. The sound comes through HDMI but is intermittent / patchy. Will play for a second or two, then cut out for a few seconds then come back.

Any ideas?

ps. thanks again for doing this, by far the easiest HDMI Audio fix for a newcomer

I've got the same issue with 10.10.1 using a gt610. But my HD 7970 on 10.9.5
Is perfect. No issue with the slight cutting out. Did you find a fix for the issue ?

The kext works fine for a Hackintosh though. Didn't work in my Mac Pro with a GTX 570. Put that card in my Hackintosh and it works fine. Now I am running a GTX 970 in my Hackintosh and it still works fine. The Mac Pro has been retired.

Thanks to all who provide most useful info here. I just got HDMI audio working with my 5.1 / GTX970 system. It's mainly a curiosity, since I have a decent audio receiver hooked up the Mac's line output, feeding a good set of speakers, which, of course, the monitor's built in speakers can't touch. But, as a true tech geek, I enjoy seeing all the possible configurations of my hardware working!

Hennesie2000,
Talking about my why specifically output terminal ?
If you can give me specific instructions, I could follow them, as I did with the first post.
