Calendar Alert - Can it Make Noise

Can Calendar's alert invoke a noise - so I can better be made aware of that little top-right-of-the-screen-dialogue that - often I don't notice right away?

Go to "System Preferences->Notifications" and select...

That's strange - I had all those options checked, yet no sound with my alerts!!

Make sure that in System Preferences ->Sound that under Sound effects you have the Alert sound volume set high enough.

Just ran a test iCal Alert event and mine works as it should.
