I haven't had any trouble with Match. What I am having trouble with is streaming HD TV shows and trying to download them from iTunes is slow. What normally takes me seven minutes to download for a 1.5GB file is taking an hour.

Right so after getting 1 successful upload of one of my personal Mixes last night I decided to try and upload some other music. I purchased 4 albums from Juno Download and sorted all my tags out and added to iTunes hit update match and waited. They were double CD albums and it did Steps 1&2 and then went to the usual "Uploading remaining songs and artwork", this was still going 2 hours later and I just left it over night.

In the morning it had matched 7 out of 8 and had crashed, strange that it hadn't uploaded them like it said it was doing. So now I have set it off again and am waiting for the 1 remaining album to upload or match (they are full DJ mixes as a single track that's why there are only 8).

The 7 that did match I was able to download one of them to my phone this morning but I have no artwork for any of the 7 tracks even though they are matched.

Back to the drawing board I guess and just wait for Apple to sort out these rubbish servers of there's!

Ok, so I am still not able to upload any tracks!

So I have contacted the German Apple Support today again. They said that the server problems, that should be fixed on sunday with a server patch, are fixed - according to apple!

Not for me though, so we tried the following steps:

- Disable autostart applications that might be problematic, due to port blocking... (System prefs->user...)
- Delete content of /Library/Caches/ and ~/Library/Caches folders.
- Boot Mac in Safe mode. (shut down completely, then power on & hold alt key)
- fix hard drive permissions with the hard drive utility
- reset user password

still itunes match is not working.

When I remove all pending uploads/to be matched files, it works. Now it is showing that iTunes Match is synchronized and all files are available.

Readding the files brings back the same problem again. Either Timeout(error -3231, or hang on uploading or analyzing tracks)

I especially tried adding an original mp3 from amazon -> same problem!
Even when i convert the mp3 to wav first then add it to itunes and convert it to aac with itunes --> same problem!

So from my experience the problem is still existent and regardless of format, quality or source of the mp3. The iTunes server just seems to not accept the upload!

I will speak to a support specialist on thursday again... keeping you updated...

Are you guys still experiencing issues?

Apple Support Europe acknowledged the problem via phone yesterday, but they were not able to tell when the service will be working again.

It's still not working for me, and the most frustrating part is that there is no official statement regarding the ongoing problems from Apple. It's as if the problem doesn't exist.

For those saying things like 'you're uploading wrong', you are clearly missing the point that iTunes Match users should not have to p*ss around with logging out/in again to get it working. It should 'just work'
I am a second time subscriber to iTM, the first time round, absolutely nothing would upload, and Apple refunded my sub, I waited another year, then bought another sub, this time, my library of 17000 songs uploaded initially without a hitch, but that was a few months ago, since then I have had the exact problem described above, the load bar sticks on 'uploading remaining songs and artwork'.

I am now really starting to wonder if Apple can actually manage web based services, and if they even have the competency to offer them.. first MobileMe, then Maps, now this..

Absolutely agree with this. Given how important iCloud is to Apple's future products this whole situation is frighteningly bad. A perfect storm of bad product, bad customer service and bad communication.

The "service status" page showing green through this whole 2 weeks or so of outage is the icing on the cake.

The issue is finally resolved for me after I recreated my iTunes Library. (Renamed ~/Music/iTunes folder)

Was listening to itunes music and suddenly lost my entire library on my iphone 5. I have iTunes match. I have not kept up with iTunes match news/problems and realized that others may also be experiencing similar issues.

It won't even let me login right now with a popup msg "Cannot connect to iTunes Store".

Anyone else having unexplained problems such as me?

Thanks :D

Solution Guide

For future reference these steps usually solve all iTunes Match problems. This is what the Apple Support also recommended me:

1) Sign off iTunes
2) Turn Genius Off
3) Close iTunes
4) Open iTunes
5) Sign in iTunes
6) Turn Genius On
7) Turn On iTunes Match

If these seven steps do not solve the problem, try these steps:
8) Execute Steps 1-3 again!
9) Disable autostart applications that might be problematic, due to port blocking... (System prefs->user ...)
10) Delete content of /Library/Caches/ and ~/Library/Caches folders.
11) Boot Mac in Safe mode. (shut down completely, then power on & hold alt key)
12) fix hard drive permissions with the hard drive utility
13) reset user password

If all this does not work for you, you have to recreate your iTunes library, unfortunately:
14) Execute Steps 1-3 again!
15) Rename the iTunes folder in: "~/Music/" (iTuens will create a new iTunes folder!)
