Why does it seem like I can download data from the Internet (essentially across the country or from the other side of the planet) faster than I can transfer data to an external hard drive?
I have a WD My Passport Ultra 500 GB USB 3.0 external hard drive that I use for backing up my early 2014 Macbook Air. Everything seems to work properly, but it just seems slow, especially compared to internet downloads.
It was the same with my iMac. And transfer also seem slow on all the thumbdrives I've tried.
