I loved my 1st gen Apple TV but stopped using it because of the difficulty in playing mkv content.

The new ATV Flash XBMC edition claims to play mkv files at 1080p on the 1st gen Apple TV if a new video card is installed. Has anyone tried this? If so, what is your opinion on it?
