Strange Whatsapp behavior - I like it

Hi,

I'm currently using an iPhone 6 and a 6 Plus. Before, when I switched phones I always needed to reauthenticate on Whatsapp. Now, I can use both phones without having to renew my whatsapp 'login'.

Is this normal, or is it because I restored my Plus from a 6 Backup? Anyways, I like it this way, was just wondering why...
