2006 Mac Pro - No Chime on Boot

Hi all,

Had some issues with Premiere crashing all the time, so I rebooted the system. What's weird is I no longer hear a boot chime, even though the system boots to the desktop.

I've got a PC GTX 560 Ti so I don't have a boot screen anyway, but I just find it strange that there's no chime and wondering if it could be related to the crashtastic nature of Premiere as of yesterday.

Any ideas on what it could be?

If you mute the system, there will be no boot chime.

Yep. Once I get to the desktop audio works fine.

Internal speaker. I also went into System Preferences and made sure the audio was coming through the built-in speaker and it was.
