144hz displays with OS X

I've been able to track down a good deal on an Acer GN246HL 24-inch monitor. Would this be able to output the full 144hz at 1080p over DVI by using the Apple Mini-Displayport to dual-link adapter? I realize a standard Mini-DP to DVI cable will only do 60hz at 1080p.

Any insight is appreciated.
