If anyone is running Windows 10 preview in bootcamp can you make a restore point?
I have 2 MacBook pros (a 15" 2.2 and a 13" 10.2) both with 9926 build of Windows 10 preview running in bootcamp. One is clean install, one upgraded from 8.1.
In both creating a restore point in windows fails with event log showing VSS error ID 12289 "Volume Shadow Copy Service error: Unexpected error CreateFileW"
This same VSS error also occurs making a custom refresh point using recimg command or making a system image.
If anyone is running Windows 10 in bootcamp please could you check if it works for you as it would be quite a serious shortcoming if it is not possible to make backups.
EDIT: the workaround is to disable the applehfs.sys driver as it is incompatible with windows 10 - https://www.tenforums.com/general-d...-vss-error-12289-a-post207784.html#post207784
You lose the ability to access HFS volumes if you do this but are unable to make backups on Windows if you don't.
