Skylake is not delayed because of Broadwell. Intel is right on time with the next generation. The only thing that was heavily delayed is Broadwell. So there is something wrong with the information of your "source".

Broadwell just came out in Jan. Broadwell was supposed to be out in 2014. When you're designing products, they start the process years in advance, and at the time probably thought Skylake was going to be out by early 2015.

Add on to that that OEM's aren't going to want to redesign their computers after just 6 months of sales, so there's also pressure for Intel to hold back on the chips for a little. Personally, I'd be surprised if they start reaching consumers before x-mas 2015/CES 2016.

Intel stated that they won't delay Skylake just because they had problems with getting Broadwell out. So something is not right here. If they designed the MB for Skylake then why go for Broadwell if you know that Skylake is on schedule. Or it was designed with Broadwell in the first place but then all the other information of the "source" doesn't fit.

Yea, we know Apple that they can delay a product no problem at all. So if Macbook should had skylake...Apple can release macbook at fall
They already have too much money...so money is not priority
So macbook wasn't released in October because Broadewell was intended for the macbook

Yep that is what I'm thinking. If it was designed for Skylake then why not wait and just update the Air and MBP with the new Broadwell CPUs and introduce the force touchpad as a new feature. This makes no sense unless it was designed for Broadwell in the first place.
