How might this be accomplished? I found an article on the web that showed how to use sqlite3 to do it but it failed and said too many options. Perhaps it was for an older operating system. Anyone here know how to do this? The app I want to remove is 'app store'. Another one to remove would be 'MAMP PRO'.

The app I want to remove is 'app store'.

Really? You are done with all new apps and future updates to the OS and existing apps you have?

IMHO it would be quite sensible if Apple prevented removal of the App Store app...

If you want the app in the Application folder but not in Launchpad then an easier way is to create a folder in Launchpad and use that to contain seldom-used apps (just drag one app on top of another, it will create a folder with both apps in).
