Hi guys, got the game. Happy to report that it runs on my Mac! I tried running it with all display settings set to High but the fan was getting really loud, so I recommend using medium settings at most. :)

Just make sure your machine is well-ventilated because it does get a bit warm.

So mid settings on Intel Iris Pro are playable? ;) Without any framerate problems?

I decided to bite the bullet after finding a good deal online (25% discount) as I know I will buy it in future anyway. I am running it on a Macbook Air (13" mid 2012).

1.8 Ghz i5
128 Gb SSD
4Gb Ram
Intel HD 4000
1440x900 native resolution

I've only had time to play for half an hour so far but I am impressed. The game plays fine on medium settings although it does get hot, I turned all the settings to the lowest and it is not heating up half as much, so I will play it on lowest settings, to me it still looks good.

I don't know what it will be like once the population grows and I certainly won't be playing it hours and hours after each other, but I think it will deal with it fine.

Currently mods work but not custom assets like buildings and stuff. Custom maps work fine. Colossal Order is working hard on the next 1.0.7b patch (which was withdrawn due to bugs) which I can confirm that assets work there too, exactly like Windows version. For a new player I'd get it now, but if you've played on Windows version before or already had some custom buildings in your cities it won't show up.

I have the 2013 13' rMacbook Pro baseline and this game is so lagging even on low settings you can't even play it. I don't understand how you guys are getting it to work with even lower spec computers?

You should be able to play with texture settings on high, and level of detail on low-medium. I get about 40fps on those settings

Hi. Could anyone help me whether or not I'll be able to play Cities Skylines? I just upgraded yesterday from 10.6.8 and I've been really hoping to play the game since I saw Keralis play it on Youtube. If not, what could I do?

It just about scrapes the minimum requirements for the 2010 15" apart from being short on video card RAM. It's probably not going to be a great experience.

So, what should I do instead? I don't have a PC. Luckily, everything else works when I upgraded it.

Sorry if it sounds a bit harsh ... you need to buy a new Mac (or PC).

Your 2010 model can't be upgraded to a sufficient level.

I'm looking at buying this game, is there anyone playing it on their Mid-2014 rMBP 15" with dGPU? If so, how well does it run?

2.5 Quad-core Intel i7
16GB RAM
Nvidia GeForce GT 750M

A little, not a lot. Not that easy to get a straight comparison as the Pro only comes with quad core CPUs.

GPU wise it's the same base design. The Pro has slightly faster clocks and some eDRAM.
