iMac 21.5 2011 + Elgato Dock

Hi,

I have a 2011 21.5 inch iMac and intend to get an Elgato Dock (not the new one) and connect two USB 3 external hard drives to it, as well as a 29 inch 2560x1080 display (via Mini DisplayPort to DisplayPort.)

Does anyone have any experience with such? From what I've been reading it seems like everything will work just fine. Am I correct?

I don't have the Elgato, but I do have something similar - a Caldigit TB dock.

It runs an external display and also a Promise Pegasus R6 12TB just fine.
