What is the best way to block ads on iPhone and iPad? Is there a way to block ads within the YouTube app?

I use an app called Weblock. If I remember correctly, it can only work over wifi networks, but it does work well. Better than nothing for sure!

Not sure about YouTube ads. I think you'd need to download a third-party YouTube app for that.

EDIT: Found this in regard to YouTube ads with Weblock:
WARNING: Latest YouTube update use different mechanism to get ads. This caused Weblock to be ineffective against some YouTube video ads. We're currently working on a solution to this problem. Please keep in mind, that enabling "Block YouTube" filter from filters list will block all content from YouTube, including the actual videos! To block only YouTube ads, please enable all entries from AdServers and General AdServers filters.
