Here's how I'm color coding my Ethernet cables

Ethernet:
Yellow - Management
Blue - Primary
Red - Secondary
Green - Backup
Orange - WAN/ISP

Black or White - End devices. White matches my floor molding so it'll blend in easier. Black for my home entertainment so it isn't easily visible when lights are dim and movie are on.

Fiber:
Teal - if I decide to buy overpriced SFP's

----------

Nice build

thanks!

Nothing like running out of cables. And my Ubiquiti switch doesn't look like it'll be arriving for another few weeks or months

Switch finally arrived. Ended up canceling my order and going with a different vendor. I'll be posting more pics this weekend.

which switch you end up getting? 70GBPS non-blocking seems low for a 48ports enterprise switch..

Unifi US-48-500W

70Gb is the sum of the entire switch ((48*1)+(2*1)+(2*10)). I'm hoping the datasheet is incorrect and its actually 140Gb (duplex) or at least around 96-100Gb.

Lets go Unplug, we want updates! ;)

Sorry, my actual job has been keeping me busy. :)

I'll try to post something by the end of the week.

On a side note, my Synology RX415 is installed with an extra two 4TB RE drives. I have room to add 2 more but right now I have plenty of free space and I'm hoping WD comes out with reliable 6TB RE drives in the next year or two. Then I'll start populating/upgrading to those.

Maybe I should start selling online storage with all the TB's I have available :)

Nice build. My only concern would be the RG-6 coax splitters. With that many splits from a single tap, you're going to lose a lot of signal at the TV drops (at least you split off the cable modem first).

You might want to consider switching out the 1-6 splitter with a powered one.

Other than that, I'm super jealous. Can't wait to do something similar. :)

and now time for some furniture and dual display wall mounted monitors...
Oh! Is that one of them chairs they sell in Costco? It looks just like one and I've been planning on picking one up when I move into my new house.

Not sure. I got mine at Staples. I've sat in it for 4 hours straight and find it comfortable still. My only gripe is the arm rests aren't that sturdy or offer much support.
