I hate to speak ill of the dead but Flash was the real start of that duo.

This was my favourite show as a child in the late 70s/early 80s.. Great time for a 6-7 year old on a Friday night...

.. until Knight Rider stole the show.

I thought Enos was first deputy, not Flash..

You are correct. However, Flash was more likely to be in the car with Sheriff Rosco on his patrols, as Enos had his own patrol car, so Rosco talked to Flash more often. On top of that, Rosco appeared to have more respect for Flash than he ever did for Enos.

but.... but... Enos got his own spinoff! Yes, it may have lasted less than a season, but everyone liked him!

Wait.. wasn't Flash the beagle?!?
