I had to crawl under my desk yesterday night to organize some cables. And when I looked up, I noticed there is some light shining though a gap between the display and aluminum case. It's hard to explain, but the gap is behind the screen, and it is around FaceTime camera. I guess the display is not perfectly attached/glued around FaceTime camera...?

Is this normal?

My iMac is late 2012 21.5" model. I'll post a picture soon.

Apple told me it will cost around $600 to fix this. Not sure whether it is worth fixing it since I don't see any issue with display (no discoloration around the gap)...

Plus the fact you only noticed it when crawling under your desk.

Would Apple be replacing the display for that $600? Seems expensive otherwise. I'd probably just monitor it and if it gets worse try removing and reseating the screen, though attempting this could of course cause more damage and a decision to do so shouldn't be taken lightly.
