A few weeks ago I picked up a set of B&W P3 headphones to use with my iPad mini. I haven't used on-ear headphones in ages so the fit & feel took a bit of getting used to but overall they're great and I'm pleased with them. The plastic carrying case is handy but it's a finger chomper. Considering getting the P7 'phones to use with my iMac. We shall see.

i wasn't looking for new headphones (already had bose ae2 and ath-m50) but after letting my sister have my sennheiser 439s i thought i'd check around for a replacement. Always had my eye on the 598s and the price was a steal. Really enjoying having a nice quality open back cans.

Can any recommend some decent in-ear headphones that you'd use for gym specifically? Less than $100? I can't see myself spending more than $100 for in-ears for some reason.

Can anyone recommend either on-ear or over-ear headphones for $200 or less (preferably with tax). Wired or wireless (or both). Preferably foldable. I have these Sony's right now --> http://www.bestbuy.ca/en-ca/product...spx?path=aa70a4562cd6f42bd4e25497d5faa863en02 <-- But I've heard excellent reviews of Audio Technica M50s, Shure SRH840 and Sony MDR7506. Any suggestions?

Never heard the Sony but I'd go with Shure SRH840 over the M50's. If you like the sound of the M50's, I'd go with the Beyerdynamic Custom Pro. There are many many headphones I would pick over the M50's. So many brands. The M50's are as much hype as they are good. NOT BAD, just over hyped.

I can't find the exact link I used, but if you can't go to a local audio shot to try headphones out, this sight will help a lot.

Well the Beyerdynamic Custom Pro is way out of my price range at $300 Canadian. It just seems the M50(x) seems to have great reviews. Same for the Shure's. Even the SRH440. Also again I'd prefer something that is foldable.

Sorry, I tend to forget prices. I buy a lot of open box/man refurb so I'm used to the idea that the Custom Pros are 180.

I saw the SRH840 at Guitar Center for 150. My favorite all around headphones. I actually don't like the folding but it's their if I need to. Brian Tyler, famous composer, uses them.

Mine came with the stretch cable. I bought this one

Well I don't use eBay so the braided cable is out. But I did find a straight non coiled cable replacement for the SRH840 on Amazon for $15. I'm just researching and "window shopping" for now. I know this is a picture thread so I don't want to overtake it with a conversation. Just felt it was a good place to ask the question. Thanks for your input.

Pic of my Sennheiser PX100's, solid, reliable and have served me well for almost 10 years!
Great sound from such a lightweight package.

Love them as well! Girlfriend ended up stealing them so I bought the new ones with the microphone and inline remote, was a special for only $30 if I recall.

Great headphones!

So it seems after reading and watching many reviews that I've so far settled on the Audio-Technica M Series headphones. I'm still deciding between the M40x and M50x. There's a pretty good price difference between the two as noted in the pic below from Canada Computers website. There's also a blue "special edition" M50x not listed for $189 on Amazon.ca. Any opinions on these out there?

i have the blue m50x.. i like them. Sounds great, and very comfy.
The detachable cable is nice.. I plugged one using a splitter to my mac pro and also have the short one for my iPhone. Seems to work for me.

Yeah I like the look of the blue one. Also the dark green "special edition" looks sweet also but it's the most expensive of all of them for some reason. Many reviews have said that the M40x has more of a "flat" sound compared to the M50x. The more I think about it makes me want the M40x more. I use the iTunes equalizer anyway so it may be a better option. Plus it's cheaper and more affordable for me.

I see the Pioneer logo but what's the model number? What's the sound quality like?

HDJ-2000-K, the quality is pretty good. Likely not the best for audiophiles but I enjoy the balance on them, great mids and good punch at high volumes. They are comfortable to wear for long sessions. It's been with me for 3 years with daily use and they still look and work like new.

ATH M50 X

Not my picture

Just got the M40x version of these today. Amazing sound and build quality. But quite snug on my head. Hopefully they will stretch out over time. It was $123 (Canadian) and assuming I don't return these I'll be buying the short 1.2m cable off Amazon.

I will be traveling long distance on a plane for my honeymoon in the summer, so I'm looking for a good pair of headphones to use for watching movies on my iPad and listening to music.

I would like if they had Nosie canceling, but it wouldn't be a deal breaker if I can buy a pair without it. For this being a long distance trip,I want over the ear headphones where my ears don't feel uncomfortable after long periods.

Willing to spend around 200-300.

I picked up a pr of the M50x while on sale, very happy with them.
I have Senn HD280 Pro & PX100, Bose QC 15, Soundmagic e10 in ear, August EP650 BT, and Mpow Swift BT so not an extensive mix to compare them too, but they are comfy, lightweight and sound great to my ears. My favorite for at home quality listening.
