Hi.
I have an ugly remote control for my TV. I use to do three things only:
1. Turn on/off TV.
2. Volume up/down.
3. Change input (HDMI 1/2)

Question: can I "hack" an apple tv remote to do this and use it instead of my current (ugly, big) remote control?

THANKS!

well, you can definitely hack it, if you're a talented hacker. (e.g. reverse engineer & reprogram or use something like an arduino to translate the signals). seems awfully complex to me. besides, you would always simultaneously control your appletv with the buttons as well.

just get an universal remote like a logitech harmony.

btw. you can control the appletv with your big, ugly remote. :D

or you could use something like this:
