Nvidia web drivers on 1,1 with Yosemite

Resurected a 1,1 and finally got Yosemite installed (I was doing stupid things that made it harder than it should have been). I haven't swapped my old GTX670 into it yet (waiting on a second 6pin connector), but plan to. The OS *should* work fine (no boot screen, blah blah) but I would really like to run the Nvidia web drivers (like I do on my main machine) for some extra performance. I believe the latest version won't install because Yosemite shouldn't be on a 1,1... Can anyone verify if it installs without complaint, or is there a way to force it in? I recall there being a way to modify it to install under an incompatible OS version on a compatible hardware version, but don't know if it can be done the other way around... if that's even needed.
