Many years ago, through frustration at, amongst other things, not being able to play music I'd payed for unless I kept jumping through Apple's loops, I detached my music library from iTunes and moved it to XBMC on one machine and Spotify on others. However recently I've found Spotify to be problematic (not surprising as PPC support dried up long ago) so found myself dragging my music back to iTunes (10.6.3) on one machine.
I found that after importing all the files, iTunes had somehow scrambled the mp3 tags, so some tracks are misnamed, on wrong albums or have gibberish in them, so I'm in the slow process of going through 11,000 tracks to make sure they're named correctly.

Has anyone experienced this, know it's cause and a remedy to prevent it happening again?
