i dropped my powerbook and now it doesnt work. i charged it and tried powering it on but nothing happened. however i connected my ipod and it got charged. any thoughts.

broke the hardrive platters
i dont know with a broke hardrive the hardware would still power on

That it doesn't turn on. It shouldn't even be able to charge an iPod without turning on, unless there's something I don't know about Powerbooks.

Sounds like you broke something internally, mate.

Can you hear the HDD spinning? Any sound at all? If you can, then you broke the screen, but the machine may still be working. If NOTHING is turning on and you can still charge your iPod, you are screwed. Well. you are screwed either way. Go to an apple store and find out whats wrong. It won't be covered under applecare but you may get lucky and it'll be a cheap repair.
