Hi All
I've just started at a new job. The voice over booth, well cupboard, is a decent condenser mike running through an analogue mixing desk, then into M-Audio Firewire 410. From this it runs via Firewire into a mac laptop where we record on SoundTrack pro.
Now basically it sounds crap, and is unreliable. The M-Audio Firewire 410 needs rebooting all the time, there is a lot of hum and hiss on the recording.
Given that I have a modest amount of money to spend, say £5k, what sort of set up should I be looking for?
It needs to be compact and self operated i.e. the artist needs to record their own session to the laptop in the booth.
Thanks
Dan
