Security glitch found with iPhone - thief will run up your bill

Looks like a passcode ain't going to stop a thief from running up your bill. Aparently I just discovered that if you have a passcode on your iPhone, like I do, and you click the Emergency Call tab before entering your passcode you can dial any number you'd like, not just emergency 911. I hope Apple patches this.

Well that's kind of the point. An Emergency Call isn't just for calling 911 it's for calling loved ones when you are about to be executed.

Friend of mine just pointed me towards this site.

I literally just posted about this on the Apple discussion forums...

I hope Apple react to these concerns instead of telling us we're doing something wrong.

Exactly. How is this behavior different from any other phone on the market? You can make emergency calls without a SIM in the phone too, though my understanding is that only emergency numbers (911, etc) are allowed. If you enter any number you like, does the call actually go through? I don't know if that would be a bug or not though.

The call does connect, yes. I called my gf in "emergency mode"! This defo seems like a bug to me.

Maybe you only get a limited amount of 'Emergency calls' before it resets when you connect it to your computer...
