I just got the new apple keyboard and noticed that it is designed for OS X 10.4.1 and later.

I'm running 10.3.9 and the basic keys work BUT one of the apparent drawbacks is that the volume control buttons don't function. Instead they mess with "exposé" when you press them.

I downloaded the software update for the keyboard but it wouldn't install...it says, "AppleKeyboardSoftware_PPC cannot be installed on this computer. You are attempting an unsupported installation. Please launch the enclosing installation package."

Anybody with any ideas on how to get those volume controls working, I would REALLY appreciate it.

Thank you!

Unless someone is able to make the drivers work, I don't think there will be much luck. You can't remap the keys, can you?

Yeah, the keyboard section in "System Preferences" doesn't seem to indicate any options for the volume control keys.

None of the other F-keys control the volume either.

I'm still really hoping there's a way to make it happen.
