I never start threads, but I can't find this on MacRumors. Is anybody else annoyed that the iPod Classic displays a Time and Battery icon a few seconds after the backlight turns off? It is pretty lame that this is not an optional screen. Also, I want chime in that I have major response time delays when navigating the entire system, not just CoverFlow. This is even after I have installed the latest update. I am still happy with the 160 because I love having that much media on my iPod. Any thoughts on these points?

Yes, I see the same issues. I don't mind the clock, but I do get serious delays when browsing the menus.
Agreed on all counts!! I have just decided to keep the backlight on constantly so that it doesn't go to the "screen saver". Really annoyed with the delays too. It is a great player but man they need to iron out these bugs.
