Some say 10.5 is faster and some say its slower.

Is there any good free benchmark software I can use to see exactly how fast it is or if its any better that those with similar config who say its slow.

See here. They have already done it and given links.

However it doesn't measure user see snappiness where Leopard way out shines Tiger.

Ok, however I wanted to benchmark my own system so I can see what it is like. Not look at 10.5 benchmarks. Is there any good free benchmark software I can use on my own system?

Good post!. Feels faster on my dual 2.0 G5 (last model)

My xBenchmarks are similar:

except my UI tests consistently at 23. The 2D dock is essential for non choppy Animations (Exposé, Spaces, Dashboard, Genie Effect, etc). Some things are definitely faster, such as Safari load times, Web Pages with heavy CSS coding, and Mail.
