On advice on this site and a local Apple C Tech, I bought two Acomdata Mini Pal 160GB External Hard Drives so I could speed up my PPC Mac Mini in RAID.

Guess what? I still don't get what I am trying to do.

What I think I have to do is strap these babies together with a firewire cable. Then plug another cable into the mini. Then somehow configure the two external drives as one drive (?) in Disk Utilities? And this configuration will speed up the mini if I boot off it?

I understand that I also may need to put bigger faster hard drives in the cases for a real speed bump. I have a 100gb pata 7200 Travelstar in the mini now but really want some sort of speed bump with RAID.

Anyone know what I should be doing for faster performance?

Did you ever make any progress?

Is it possible to RAID to external USB/Firewire drives from a Mac Mini?

Thanks
