How big is your music collection?

The other day, a co-worker showed me a picture thousands of vinyl and CD's he had collected over several decades (along with some nice equipment). I then told him I have the same amount of music, on a 3.5" hard drive whereas his took up an entire room.

Well, what's your count folks?

About 600 iTunes songs, with about 10 CDs. I'm still a novice, but 600 keeps me happy

60-70GB of music
100+ Movies in digital form

I could play music for over 40 days straight and never hit the same song twice. I could never listen to all of it, but nice to have around

250+ gigs worth of ripped and purchased music. Over 600+ cd's. My cd collection takes up a nice shiny metal carring case and two really big brown boxes in the garage!

There is this thread from last year.

I've got about 100 more LPs and maybe 150 more cds from the photos in that thread.

I love looking at toothpaste's photos.

My iTunes library stands , currently, at 11,735 tracks. I add about 150 a month to it.

All songs with cover art and ID3 tags 100% perfecto
Began with this January 1st 2007. Pretty neat in my opinion and I'm very, very proud of it.

I have got 1027 songs, 79 full length movies and 84 tv shows. Sadly they don't fit on my 16 GB ipod touch

wow. i feel like such a beginner. lol.
i have 260 songs [1.5GB], with a couple CDs I need to rip, and about 200 songs I need to get from a friend. Then you add in four movies, some music videos, two shorts and a ton of podcasts and that equals my library for now.

I plan on ripping my DVDs but waiting to get the Mac mini for the storage.

I used to buy CDs, now I pretty much buy everything on iTunes to save space.

All FLAC, All the time. Lots of rare vinyl and MFSL/DCC remasters.

Perfectly tagged and all with artwork of 600X600.

Perhaps... but his collection will always be more impressive and say a lot more about his commitment to music (and his opinion of its worth) than yours.

This is exactly why I am starting to build my physical collection up to the size it ought to be—which is to say, "massive."

Surely size is not as important as what you do with it?

I have over 3000 analog jazz and classical LPs and I wouldn't trade them for 10 times that amount of music on iTMS.

I only play these on a Linn Sondek LP12.

Most of my music is from CD's, but about 100 or so songs are purchased from iTunes.
