Iphone activation without internet connection?

I will take my laptop to the O2 store, but do I need my laptop to be online to activate in itunes? Mt work does not have wifi and I dont have itunes at work.

I don't think you need an Internet connection to activate, but you'd need it for updates.

you do as the activation contacts att servers (or o2 or whatever). they will probably do the activation in store for you though.
