I need to create a favicon for my site but don't know which program to do this in..what program can I do this with? Or is there anyway I can convert a jpg/gif/png to .ico? 😕

Any1 have any ideas?

You can do it with Icon Composer, installed with the Leopard or Tiger development tools. It can be found at Macintosh HD/Developer/Applications/Utilities/Icon Composer. It gives you a lot of control/options.

Or you could use Dynamic Drive's online generator found at:

http://tools.dynamicdrive.com/favicon/

There is a difference between Mac icons and the specific format of a favicon (.ico) - are you sure the utility creates .ico?

Nope. Not sure. In fact, I may be remembering using it to make system icons (icns) and not favicon.ico's. Not sure - but I just checked it out and couldn't figure out how I would have done it before, so I could just be wrong.
