Can't use iTunes balance to purchase

i've JUST started getting this as well
any solutions? or just wait?
i'm trying to download a free app update as well...

ME TOO!!

I was about to re-download an app I've already downloaded before on my iTunes, and was having a problem. I have a "one free song" credit I haven't used yet (from a Ticketmaster purchase), and I thought that might be the problem. But when I tried to use that credit to buy a song, the same exact prompt you show here came up! This JUST happened, and I was about to post here about it when I saw your post.

im buying an app through the iPhone and so far its working!

Now installing so it works on the iPhone!

Same here. Glad I'm not the only one having this problem.

Maybe Apple doesn't want our money anymore?
