I used it years ago and seem to remember it being a very slow process.

RSD..
The newest version that I am using is super quick. I mean really quick. The only time it lags, is if I do it over the network, IE if I want to edit some of the files that are on my server there is a little time, mainly depends on the how many I am updating etc. But if I am doing it locally, it is super quick. I created mapped drives on my vm partition so I can move files back and forth really easy. If I need to edit a lot of files, which I haven't needed to do in a while. I mainly use this now for sending the files to the server after I am done processing them. IE EAC>>Tag & Rename>>mp3gain>>send to appropriate folder on server>>done. I have no complaints with tag & rename.

I've been using Jaikoz and absolutely love it. The developer is very responsive and even hosts a forum in which he is extremely active. Have a feature suggestion for Jaikoz? Just post it and it could be in the next version!
Pros: -It handles my 46GB library with no sweat. -It uses Acoustic IDs to identify songs with NO metadata at all. I've had around a 90% percent accuracy rate with this. -It uses the Musicbrainz database to correct tags which IMHO is one of the most thorough music databases around. -The amount of fine tuning and control you have over the program is near mind boggling (can be good and bad) -Plays nice w/ iTunes most of the time -Free upgrades always -Finds lyrics, if that's your thing Cons: -The software is java-based which bothers some people -The program definitely has a learning curve, it's not a one click fix. This can be frustrating, but once you get over the hump it's all gravy and you're happy that program offers a million ways to fine tune your tagging. -It's not free. But hey, most good things aren't. Support a good developer! -The UI is nothing to write home about. -Wouldn't recommend for finding missing artwork, most is low quality or very small. I'm in no way associated w/ the developer, I'm just thrilled that the program exists. |
