How in the world would you know this?🙄
I don't see any reason why or any reason to believe they would raise the price.

Well 1299 for a MacBook(which specs we(at least I) are expecting on the Mini).....and thats up 100 from last generation, so a Mini could see that too(hopefully not)

I sure hope not, but we will see! Less then 2 days!!

Well, that seems concrete. I apologize for thinking that these rumor sites would be filled with rumors instead of all these facts.

The iMac also had one (7,1 I think, I forget the build number).

Of course, it doesn't mean they will release that at MacWorld, but a Mac Mini update is certain, especially with all the speculation and the fact the Mini hasn't seen an update for years.

How about rumors based on facts and research? 🙄

Model identifiers are strewn about in software updates. It's not the first time a new model or component has shown up leading to believe there's going to be something new.

So, we're confirming a rumor from another rumor site?? The other rumor site probably got their info from here. Doesn't seem like a very solid confirmation. We'll see in a couple days i guess.

Yes it's been solidly confirmed that there is a Rumor, where before there was only a murmur of a rumor.

No one. It was found in an OS X config file in the new notebooks. Where have you been? Before lashing out, do some research!😀

And this is interesting... I think it is now safe to say that they will not significantly going to lower the price!

Anyone else agree?😀

I understand that that was found in code - but that does not mean that we will be getting new 17 MBP with non-removable batteries or firewire on the mini or if they will be released on tuesday. I was merely noting that they were confirming rumors from another rumor site.

Apples dont ship with adaptors, converters, additional cables etc something about company policy and the way the company wanted to go, there was an interview with the guy who designs the products and he said that, i'll try to find it.

Once upon a time, Apple used to include more than stickers and a polishing cloth.

Sorry I haven't read through all the comments, but I thought this would be of interest as well. Went in the Columbia, MD Apple Store today and they had this display on the 17" MBP:

Looks like they're not trying too hard to hide it.

Perhaps the operating system was updating?

There's no way that Apple would put both mini-displayport and mini-dvi on the new mini. Why would they do that... backwards compatibility? It's not like they've ever cared before!

Seriously, the mini-displayport can do what the mini-dvi port can do, and more. Plus, Apple can make more money on adapters now! (That's the real reason!)

Therefore, one video port type: mini-displayport.

(Two mini-displayports would be nice, though! Then I might buy one.)

Ohh no 🙁

I hope the unremoveable battery is only a rumor! I don't like that!

And iMac isn't getting an update for its CPU and nvidia thingy? 🙁

I've been waiting for it to be updated so i can buy it...

I didn't say that. I was merely answering your question on who was confirming that there would be a new Mac Mini. I didn't say anything about when or anything about the MBP. I think we can both agree that your posts don't make sense.

As for the above poster, I agree with you. However, including these things might make the mini more appealing. For a lot of people, the cost of these will have to be added to the cost of the mini making the mini SIGNIFICANTLY more expensive than a hardware identical PC.

Usb 3.0

Good, the 17-in needs an update. I hope its a lot thinner than the 1st Gen.

When will Apple and other companies start using USB 3.0? When this is first used in future products, I will be getting one.

Last I heard USB 3 was anywhere from 6 - 12 months away.

I don't think there's going to be a 17-inch macbook pro. Why would the 17-inch would be soo different then the 15-inch?

Also. 17-inch notebooks is too damn big.

Don't I know it. When I got my 17" PB (which I am typing on right now) I got every imaginable DVI adapter (S-Video, VGA, DVI, etc) for free. Now that the MacBooks ship with these wonky mini-DisplayPort video ports, you get no free adapters, AND you have to buy every adapter you need from Apple - since no one else produces adapters for mini-DisplayPort.

Seems like Apple's getting cheap in their old age...

Yeah - the real question is where's FW 1600 or even 3200?

Now we know why no Stevenote - Steve's been fired

Now we know why the Lord God Jobs won't be delivering the keynote at MacWorld.

After learning of the bone-headed decision to ship a high-end laptop with a battery that the user can't swapped - the board fired Jobs for too many idiotic moves in a row.

Mini DisplayPort. No 1394 in MacBooks. MacBook Air. Apple TV. The missing mini-tower. The obsession with "thin".

Too many....
