Considering this guy is a "newbie" and his signature says 3GHz Powerbook G4, I'd say its a fake and he is a liar.

He just changed his About This Mac window. If you go to the thread linked in his sig, you'll see that I did it, too (last post right now). 😀

I'm assuming he means the image is/was on a page on apple.com, but the image tag had comment tags around it...

...so that the image would not show up on the page.
