For those ordering a 3Gs, is 16gb enough to you or are you springing for 32gb?

With the video recording features and better camera, 32 isn't seeming so huge anymore.

I'd make this a poll if I could.

mmmm... jessica.'s beer...
Well considering I have had the 16GB for a year now (3G) and I only have 4GB left, I am getting the 32GB. What we don't know (maybe we do but I don't) is how much storage every minute of video consumes... I know on my HD flip i get about 2 hours of video for 8GB of space...

I prob get the 16GB version. $100 for 16GB more is too much. Besides I prob stream music from pandora.

I'm debating the 16GB or 32GB issue also. How much music and pictures can be stored on the two?

I've been hanging on with a Day 1 2G iPhone, waiting for a 32GB model. The other new features/upgrades are just lagniappe. I have a ton of music and video with which I can fill that sucker.

Looking at the iPod Touch numbers, it looks to be:

16gb: 3500 songs
32gb: 7000 songs

My 2G 8gig always seemed like plenty with internet access and an iPod Classic (32 still isn't big enough for my iTunes library). There's now a lot more stuff that can fill up your iPhone than music though.

I'm with you, I love to manage my devices.

I never plan on being stuck out in the wild with only my phone for a month. So I put what I am in the mood for any particular week on my phone, sync it, and go on with space to spare.

I don't need ALL my **** on my phone ALL the time. 16GB for me, if I was a new upgrade, I would get the 32gb for 299.99.

As it is I have more music on my phone than I ever listen to and I still have 6GB to spare.

My feeling is it's like a computer hard drive. Bigger is always better. Given the multi media functions on the iPhone, get 32 GB if you can afford it.

I believe this is for 128 kbps AAC files, which iTunes doesn't even sell anymore. 256 kbps should be around double the file size, I believe.

I have a 16GB ipod touch which is nearly full, so I'm getting the 32gb iphone. Besides, I can now sell my ipod touch and my current phone, which will net me more then the price I'll be paying for the 32gb iphone.

Yeah. As an example, my 16GB iPod touch has 12.98GB of music on it, totaling 2135 songs.

Clearly, I'm getting the 32GB.

Due to the video or I will be using the video so i chose the 32GB. It should make things a little better for me not having to always remove in order to make room for the new.

I'm probably an idiot for doing this, but I opted for the 32GB. I'm debating whether I get the 16 or the 32GB or none at all. Since I'm paying the "upgrade" price its rather steep for the 32gb model.

Of course if I'm spending some money to upgrade and I'm dealing with only 4gb of free space on my current 16GB iPhone, it seems to make some sense to go the 32GB version.

I'm hoping that I'll get a half decent amount for my current iPhone to help offset the premium price I'm paying for the 3Gs.

I had ordered the 16 GB since on my 16 GB iPod Touch I still have 2 GBs free or so and no real plans to use it, but I decided to spring for the 32 GB because I'm probably going to have this phone for 2 years lest I want to pay steep prices again next year, also with extra space for nav maps, more pictures, more videos, etc. there's always something I can be doing with that space someway. Not to mention if I sell the phone in the future the 32 GB will be worth more.

If there was a 64gb I would've bought that.

My issue is not whether it makes sense to get the 32gb but whether to spend 499 on a phone. I did place the order but given the fact its not due to ship until next week, I have some time to come to my senses ;)

Upgrading from a 3G to 3Gs was a difficult decision, I struggled with. I made quite a few posts in various threads over the course of time how I'd not being upgrading and here I am with apple lust, and credit card in hand.

The speed increase and superior camera/video capability won me over but I'm still on the fence to cancel my order.

I opted for the delivery option instead of trying to wait inline at my local apple store with the other lemmings. Maybe the lines won't be as bad as when the 3G came out but I didn't want to take a chance.

I was gonna get 16gb but after reading your thoughts i realise it more practical going for 32gb
