Yes, it's hard work indeed. But I'm supposed to be seriously studying right now, and you probably know what happens then. You go and find stuff to do that has nothing to do with studying. Plus, a couple of friends and I had decided to make lists like this anyways, so it was little effort to post mine here. And I really am interested in what others consider to be the best albums of this decade.

Aw, that's a shame! Maybe you could edit your list so that there are only albums on it that are from these last ten years? I'll go and check out Immortal. Never heard of the band, but if you hold them in such high regard, the music should be good. Thanks for posting!

Well, I made a list of my top 30 albums ever, and here were the ones from the 2000's:
1. Vanessa Carlton-Be Not Nobody
2. Evanescence-Fallen
3. Avril Lavigne-Let Go
4. Nine Inch Nails-Year Zero
5. The Black Mages-The Black Mages
6. POD-Satellite
7. Weird Al-Poodle Hat
8. Kelly Clarkson-Breakaway
9. Machinae Supremacy-Dues Ex Machinae
10.Sepiamusic-Prototype
11.Soulja Boy-Souljaboytellem.com
12. N Sync-Celebrity
13.Nine Inch Nails-Ghosts I-IV
14.Animal Collective-Merriweather Post Pavilion

And no, I'm not a "victim to the music industry". I listen to lots of "real" music, but most of that is from other decades.

I'm listening to Immortal now. Black Metal is not really my thing, but I'm impressed by the percussion. Is that all done by the drummer himself, or does he use a drum computer? If it's him alone, he's one hell of a musician. And he must have two huge forearms.

Yeah, they really are great, aren't they? And they should indeed be way more popular than they are.

Fifty is indeed too much like work, but I'll compromise with ten.

These are liable to change - it's really just what I'm loving at the moment.

1: The Fall of Math - 65daysofstatic.
2: Hymn to the Immortal Wind - Mono.
3: The Blackening - Machine Head.
4: Origin of Symmetry - Muse.
5: And the Glass Handed Kites - Mew.
6: Kid A - Radiohead.
7: Maybeshewill - Not For Want of Trying.
8. And So I Watch You From Afar - And So I Watch You From Afar.
9. Drukqs - Aphex Twin.
10. The Fire in Our Throats Will Beckon the Thaw.

And an honourary mention to In the Aeroplane Over the Sea - Neutral Milk Hotel, which would be at no.1 if it was released this decade.

That was a lot harder to make than I thought it would be. I thought I was up to date with music. :/

This thread is invalid without mention of Muse, the Resistance.

You know, you guys are being pretty lazy.

It didn't take me more than an hour to make my top 30 list, and this is much easier, since it is only from this decade.

You're right. Using up an hour and a half of my life to make a pointless list that'll probably change within a week anyway, to show people who I've never, nor am likely to meet is totally worth it.

Lies!

Top few albums from this decade in no particular order, to be honest, I've been mostly listening to singles not albums, but there have been a few core bands that have put out awesome albums. The bold are the top 5

The union underground - ...an education in rebellion
Disturbed - indestructible
Disturbed Ten thousand Fists
Disturbed - The sickness
Lostprophets - Liberation Transmission
Lostprophets - start something
Nine Inch Nails - With Teeth
Nine Inch Nails - Year zero
A Perfect Circle - mer de noms
Rammstein - Mutter
Godhead - 2000 years of human error
Linkin Park - Hybrid Theory
Muse - The Resistance
Muse - Black holes and revelations
Muse - Absolution
Muse - origin of symmetry
Muse - Showbiz

I listen to other stuff too! my top bands of the decade would be a lot more diverse

I seriously doubted whether these two albums should be in my list, but ultimately decided against it. Indeed very good music, though!

It's just the drummer, Horgh. He is a great drummer, just saw Immortal back in June and I have to say, they are amazing at live.

If you want to hear even more insane drumming, check out Nile! Here is good song from them (listen to the drum fill in the beginning, it's inhumanly insane!)
