i dont know where to put this topic, but, im wondering... since the iPad essentially uses a modified version oh the iphone OS, wouldn't it be capable of jail breaking to get all those basic features that we have all come to know and love.((backgrounding, aesthetics, performance enhancements)) thoughts?

You might try the iphone hacks forum. That's what it's for. As for you question: of course it is possible that the iPad could be jailbroken. There is no way to know until people actually get their hands on one, though.
