The [app] tag
We have added a markup tag named
[app] to make it convenient for you to reference iTunes App Store applications in your posts. It makes use of
LinktoApp.com.
Here's how to use it:
To mention an application and produce a link to it, enclose the application name in
[app] and
[/app] tags.
For example, if you type
It's great that [app]Facebook[/app] and [app]To Do[/app] are free!
it will come out as
It's great that [app]Facebook[/app] and [app]To Do[/app] are free!
If you want to use text that doesn't match the application name, use the longer form:
Put the application name inside your opening
app tag. It's a good habit to use + signs instead of spaces between words.
For example, if you type
I go ape over a [app=super+monkey+ball]monkey-related game[/app].
it will come out as
I go ape over a [app=super+monkey+ball]monkey-related game[/app].
The syntax and examples of
[app] and other markup tags are shown in our
vB Code List.
Here's another example: the list of weather-related applications in the iTunes App Store, using
LinkToApp:
[app]AeroWeather[/app]
[app]AirWX Aviation Weather[/app]
[app]Fizz Weather[/app]
[app]ForeFlight Mobile[/app]
