If your iPhone is across the room, you would still need to get up to read the text/email even if it had an LED indicator. And two thirds of us could do with the exercise...
+1! I DON'T find the new design appealing, looks more like a step back although there's a nice aluminium border along the sides. And with a slightly smaller screen? Oh, I hope not. Others are getting bigger screens while the iPhone is getting a smaller one? Please.

Kinda makes it seem like it is just an all aluminum back like the iPad. Maybe if they did the back so it looked like aluminum and the Apple logo black! Mmmmm! Can you tweak your render a bit to make the white slightly aluminum looking with a black Apple logo?
I never wanted a white iPhone before, because they were cheap plastic that would scratch and look ugly. but if its glass/ceramic... then white is cool.

The black iPhone is the same "cheap plastic"...and actually shows scuffs and scratches more...
