NoCyAds is what you want. The redirects are practically malware...really annoying.

Edit: try this repo for NoCyAds -> http://boz0n.myrepospace.com/

Or you can drop in a 'hosts' file into dir /etc on your iPhone/iPad...see here

Oh it's an automatic redirect. Happened to me 3 times and I didn't touch anything. All to King games I think. Annoying to be forced into the App Store like that. I did install the modified hosts file but I still seem to get certain ads.

Yeah, at first I thought I was touching the screen, but it kept happening. After installing NoCyAds, it hasn't happened at all.

I believe it's BigBoss' repo. I'm not sure it's an automatic redirect; I have never been certain that I did not accidentally touch something. But it is very annoying.

Interesting. I bet! As for me I don't have ads popping out directly to the app store. Saurik prob has not realized that an ad has an automatic redirect or a tricky ad.

NoCyAds looks like a bitch to uninstall if I ever need to. Think I'll pass for that reason.

I actually restored after trying out nocyads, I'm paranoid I know.

I'm currently running with no solution for redirects from cydia, however adblocker has done great with solving the problem in safari.

So the redirects were a problem with packages in the modmyi repository. And they say it's been fixed.

I removed NoCyAds and resprung. Ads are back, and so far, no redirects.

BTW, if you've added sources, there's no guarantee the redirects for pkgs from those sources won't happen. The redirects are not supposed to happen for pkgs from the standard sources.

Edit: Doh! Fail! While viewing modmyi pkg CCControls, I was redirected to the AppStore "Game of War" app. I'm reinstalling NoCyAds.

So are there any "less shady" repos to get this from? I'm always weary of adding a repo that Cydia gives me a warning about, as in the past I think I've gotten mixed updates (on legit purchases), to the cracked/pirated versions of things, and don't want to encounter that again.

Big Boss is far from shady. They are amongst the oldest and most trusted repositories in Cydia. They started with Installer days.

Do what I did - get the tweak from the crappy source then delete said crappy source after installing. I feel bad about blocking saurik's income but it was becoming unbearable.

I know Big Boss isn't shady, however I don't see NoCyAds (or any variant of it) on BigBoss.

I got it from another source (EverythingApplesPro repo), but then read that the developer (@BawbagMcGee) had tweeted to them that they stole his work, so I've since deleted it. For me, generally if its not a well known repo, I try to stay away, plus I'm not sure if this tweak is going to screw with the blocks that AdBlocker already created for websites, or if it just blocks ads strictly in Cydia alone.

Not sure it's less shady, but it doesn't give a Cydia warning when adding the source...plus it only has 3 pkgs within...one of which is NoCyAds.

Anyone know the original nocyads author? I seem to be getting conflicting info on google searches, the repos all look shady.
