MBP 13" Screen 9CC2

I got a MBP with this screen this morning. Anyone else have it? I don't see any threads/posts with people reporting on this screen.

How does it compare with the other screens? Also, does anyone have a good calibration profile for it?

Can you run the following command in a terminal and report the result:

I made a poll with the different screens but I had no knowledge of the 9CC2 when I made it :(

In the other screen thread, there is a post about it being a good screen. This is how I see the situation: Don't go out looking for something wrong with it. If you are happy with it and you think it looks good, it ends there.

The display looks fine. The brightness is good, but the blues are pretty much purplish

I hope someone could post a profile here, as my attempts with SuperCal ended up with a worse profile than the stock one.

Ok so since pretty much everyone is reporting blues look purple, this must not have anything to do with the screen. This has got to be a GPU issue or a software issue.
 
This is AU Optronics panel. Usually they are high quality, used to be the best option for pre-unibody machines.
 
I found this profile to work well on my 9cc2. Let me know what you guys think

I've got one. Contrast is stunning, but brightness is a joke. I doubt if it's even 200 cd/m. I'm on full brightness now and I'm inside the house.

Does any one else have the same problem?

I agree. It's some what less bright than my 15" but still plenty bright for my uses inside and at Dunkin Donuts outside:) I thought about taking it back but most times when do that I end up with something worse. Dead or stuck pixels or what ever. Here is a link to a few pictures I took of my two machines side by side set at 3 clicks down from full brightness.

How is the difference between them at full brightness?
 
I was sitting outside in the sun today. It was really hard to read. I compared it to my other laptop that's measured at 160 nits. I guess the 9c22 is about 180-200 nits.

Well not much in my opinion. The colors on each screen are different. The 13 may not be quite as bright but the colors are richer which maybe makes it appear a bit less bright. My wife and I both agree the 13 inch is more pleasing to look at. About all I can say. I wouldn't take this one back looking for a brighter screen. Who knows what you would get? Could be a screen not as nice as this one.
 
The screen is pretty good, especially with the profile I posted in this thread.

The viewing angles are amazing when compared to the old UMB CE. Overall, I'm very happy with this laptop.

No neither was bright enough for outside use. It was a bright day though.

My Macbook Air or previous Macbook with 9C89 were bright enough, this one isn't.

I agree it looks really good though. Contrast and colors are excellent.

True. My friend has a 9C9F,and this screen looks better than his (even after calibration).

Nice job Apple. I used to be a mac-skeptic/hater, but this product is amazingly good. Not even a 1600$ PC can match this quality/ease.

I would not go that far though. PC's like Sony Z, Dell XPS 16 with RGB LED, Vaio FW with double lamp display can produce similar contrast and colors. But they're a lot brighter.

How many here use their screen at full brightness? I was outside with my macbook pro this morning in the sun and I could see it fine. I think the glossy screen is more of a problem outside than brightness
 
I have this screen as well and I like it a lot. I think its plenty bright, but I'm also coming from an old iBook G4 so that may have something to do with it.

Full brightness with a 250-300 cd/m panel is very useful outside for overpowering reflections. This panel is not bright enough for that.

I'm inside the house now 17:21, outside is sunny, I have light curtains closed. Brightness is at two stripes away from the maximum. That does not seem right to me. Both my uMB (9c89) and MBA were a lot brighter.

It would have been a perfect display if it was brighter. Just my opinion.

Yes. I wonder though if its worth returning. Kind of a roll the dice on which one you might get. May be worse instead of better. Possible dead pixels too. Might be best to hold on this one. Still over all its a nice screen though

I agree. I would hold on to it, unless working outside with sunlight is extremely important.

Another MBP 13" panel is 9C9E it's 225 cd/m. Only a little bit brighter than this one.

9C89 on the first alu macbooks was 277 cd/m. (but it had bad contrast, colors, blacks and viewing angles).
