it's 2.4Ghz 13'' macbook pro.I installed all drivers from bootcamp 3.1. But when I plug in headphone, there is no sound in my speaks and headphone in windows 7. But in mac os, that would be fine. And i try to reinstall and update. it still doesn't work.. And it is no red light in headphone connector. But in device manager, in sound part, there are only cirrus logics CS4206A(AB 13), and three NIVDIA High Definition Audio.
How to solve this problem?
Do you have the same problem?

jsut discovered i have the exact same problem as you an hour ago. Been googling since then to no avail. Going to do some research. I'll report back if I find a fix.

I have the same macbook as you with similar problems. I can hear sound from the speakers but I cannot hear anything when I connect my headphones. I tried reinstalling my drivers but the same problem occurs.

I have the same problem. I have the newest Macbook Pro and the sound will work great in Windows 7 for the speakers but once I plug in the headphones there will be no sound. Been trying to google a solution but nothing. I hope you guys find something.

I was in FCP last night editing some stuff and when I played stuff through the speakers and then plugged in my headphones it wouldn't come through the headphones. I then stopped and re-played my sequence and it started to work. I think we need another update...

Try this.

Go to the control panel, sound section
Connect your earphones and select the headphones/earphones as default output device.

It works on my 15" i7 MBP

Already tried that but unfortunately it was already set as default.

I have a similar model computer and the same problem. The headphone works in OS X but not in Windows 7 (64bit). Since this is working well in os x, I do not think it is a hardware issue at all. Hope someone is able to report a solution here soon. I can't get my zombie killin on while my wife is trying to sleep.

My comp is the 2010 2.66 Ghz 13" macbook pro. I do not have the red light problem reported by others (no red lights in my audio jack). The audio part listed is the Cirrus Logic one, not the Realtek one.

Yep, exactly. So it sounds like we need to wait for Apple to come out with the needed appropriate working driver? I hope that happens soon. Would be nice to game without having everyone else hear it around me.

Another person with this problem.
Problem being that the headphone port is recognised by Win7, but no audio is present at all when headphones are connected to headphone port.

I had phoned apple tech support and they said they can't do anything other than offer me the newest bootcamp drivers (which are already on the OS X install DVD) so no help there.

Beware,
As a similar problem was present with previous revisions of the MBP line, some fixes may pop up when you google something like "no audio headphones MBP"
In looking for a fix, i have found that a lot of websites suggest to install the newest 'realtek hd audio codec' drivers. I wouldn't recommend this, as i have had no joy with any of the realtek drivers that have been suggested. (and ive tried all the recent ones in vista and xp compatibility modes as recommended, as well as normal compatibility modes)
There is also a 'fix' floating around on the internet about sticking a toothpick into your headphone jack to 'reset' it. This also, is not a good idea as this was for problems with the previous MBP detecting an optical out connected to the MBP. Which, unless you have a red light coming from your headphone port, is not the problem. So don't stick things in your headphone socket trying to 'reset' anything.
I have also tried using both win7 32bit and 64 bit, and both give exactly the same problem.

For the record, i'm using a base 13", curently with win7, 32-bit

Unfortunately, after looking into it extensively, I think its a matter of waiting it out and posting bug reports to apple for now.

EDIT: Heres the form to file a bug report

I have exactly the same problem too here. It happened to the new Macbook Pro base model I bought last Friday at nearby Apple retail store. This could be a Windows software/driver bug 'cause it worked fine on OS X.

hey guys just saw this thread, freaked out cause I never tried it

and its fine...I plugged in white ipod headphones and the sound switches automatically to headphones from speakers and back when I unplug them
I am running Windows 7 Professional edition on bootcamp on my core i7 15" mbp.

are you guys plugging the headphones into the right hole? the one closest to you? Dont want to sound demeaning but that might be your problem. I plugged my headphones into the farther hole and the sound won't change. So make sure

I think your right on, Austin. I think its a matter of waiting it out.

I think the base 13" model has a different sound chip than the core i7 15" model. So, it should work fine for yours its just the 13". I think its the Cirrus Logic CS4206A that is the problem. Not any real drivers for Windows with that one except with what is included on bootcamp with the recent release. Its just that with that new release it won't allow the headphones to work.

I have the same issue :(

+1 on my new 2010 Macbook Pro as well in Windows 7 x64. It stinks but the workaround was to just get a flash drive sized USB sound card (e.g. Creative X-Fi Go! or Turtle Beach Audio Advantage Micro). Both are under $50. I'd still prefer the onboard sound but the sound is excellent and you do get a microphone jack as well. The Creative one evens has a 1GB flash.

Yes, a usb sound card will work, but for anyone who doesn't have one, it means spending more money.
This should work pretty much out of the box. But no doubt it can be fixed just by apple noticing it and distributing the drivers in a boot camp update.

Please, anyone with this problem send a bug report to apple at this address to get it sorted...

Thanks vicki, that driver worked for me.
Albeit, the sound is a little low, but thats better than nothing.

Hopfully apple comes out with a proper fix sometime soon.

Everyone please still send a bug report to apple if you already haven't done so.

Update:

The driver i installed originally posted by vicki did not support the MBP's internal microphone, so i've rolled back to the original driver from the bootcamp 3.1 set of drivers.

I also noticed that my headphone port was constantly emitting a red-light when the socket was not being used (as for when it is being used, i can't tell as theres a jack in it!) meaning the laptop is emitting the audio out as a sp/dif signal, which it shouldn't be doing.

If you can live with these bugs, then get stuck in and get that driver.

Austin

Wow, seems like a problem across the board with ALL 13" MBPs.
I am getting mine in 10 days. So Apple better have there stuff sorted out before that.... :p

But on a more serious note, yes, i'm disappointed to hear of the issues.

Any other issues you guys are having with Win7 on your MBPs??
I plan on installing Win7 the first day i get my MBP!

Same problem with Macbook Pro 13 inch (2010) & Windows 7 home premium 64 bit.

Clearly a firmware issue.

For the rest, I am very happy with my first mac (actually my 2nd, the first one was a 2nd hand Macintosh Classic)

This is going to be my first Mac too.
And since i'm an experienced Windows user, I want to put Windows 7 on the 13" MBP I'm getting.

All the software I have is Windows based which I want to be able to use on the Mac seemlessly.

Hopefully it will be a good experience cause it can also end up being the first and last....
