Acrobat should be called Acro-brat!

Why does Acrobat act like a spoilt brat? It constantly wants my attention and when I click the constantly bouncing dock icon it does absolutely nothing. It doesnt even bring Acrobat to the front.

Acrobat seems to work fine but as soon as I go to use another application I can guarantee within a couple of minutes Acrobat will be beeping and bouncing to get my attention.

Can someone tell me why? I have to quit Acrobat to stop it being so annoying but obviously this slows my workflow down.

Its Acrobat 8 on 10.5.8.

You have given zero useful information that can be used to diagnose your problem. Adobe Acrobat is a family of applications including Reader, Acrobat Standard, Acrobat Pro, and Distiller. Which one has the problem?
