Long sleep time for Snow Leopard...

It takes 10.6.1 35 seconds to go to sleep. Anyone else having issues like this? It takes in about a second. I could shutdown faster than it takes to sleep but damn.

Mac OS needs to write the contents of the RAM to the HDD (in case of an empty battery or other power outage).

There is an app called SmartSleep, which gives you the opportunity to choose between different sleep settings, but as of now, it doesn't work with my 10.6.1, even though it was updated for SL.

Darn, that sucks. I just want to sleep to memory. I tried manually doing various pmset commands in terminal without any success.

Will have to wait for a fix I guess .

HUGE UPDATE!!!!!

I read something on the Apple Discussions forums that fixed my problem.

I ran this in Termianl:
Code:
pmset -g log
and found out that WeatherBug Mac was causing a 30 second sleep hang. Here's what pmset -g log told me:

Code:
 * Domain: applicationresponse.timedout
 - Message: Kernel WeatherBug Alert com.apple.powermanagement.applicationresponse.timedout 30000 ms
 - Time: 9/25/09 5:52:06 PM MDT
 - Signature: WeatherBug Alert
 - UUID: 6EE771EC-D3AF-41DC-8E88-4BACF4D1635F
 - Result: Noop
 - Response time (ms): 30000
I quit out of the program before sleeping, and my MacBook went to sleep in less than 3 seconds. Really happy right now :P.

WineHelper with CrossOver also causes a 30000ms hang, so you have to close it before attempting to sleep.
