Leopard archive & install leopard

Hi All,
i kno i might be late with this...but i am just trying to upgrade from Tiger on my old G5 Tower...But when i put the Leopard disk into my tower it doesnt let me archive & install...has anyone had this prob.??

You are not trying to archive and install Leopard. Boot into your system (Tiger), insert the Leopard disk and there should be a Finder window that pops up. Click the “Install Mac OS X” icon and then follow the instructions.

archive & install leopard

No..
i'm trying to install Leopard but i want to archive & install...& its grayed out..

I understand that. It should be grayed out. The option you have is to upgrade. Upgrading removes the Tiger system files and then replaces them with Leopard. You have nothing to Archive and Install from yet with Leopard.

Thx, so let me make sure i am clear..
after i insatll leopard my Mac still be the same user,password & plugins & apps & etc will still be str8??
it wont wipe my whole Mac???

That’s right. Just make sure you UPGRADE, not clean install! That will remove everything, upgrade keeps everything.
