troubles with Word on Mac

Dunno if this is more for a microsoft forum (which I haven't found) but I'm having several little bugs with Word. I'd appreciate any help- or point me to a forum better suited for this help.

1. Word keeps crashing when I try to open the drawing toolbar all of a sudden. It' usually out, spmehow I made it disappear and now it won't come back.

2. When I open documents, the standard and formatting toolbars aren't displayed. They are checked in the toolbar menu; I have to uncheck them, check them again; then the drop down menus for them appear on the top pane, but not fully displayed. I have to click on the document field and they appear. ???

It seems like I somehow changed default settings or something. This all started happening today.
