Password Manager App
Hey MacRumors.com Forum Members,
I was wondering if you all know of any program, thats a password manager. Well basically I wish to have a database, in which I have my own archive and store passwords. But to enter my archive, I want to enter a password, then I can access the whole list of sites & passwords I've stored. Whats the best app. I was thinking of making my own small database like with Microsoft Access.

2nd the 1 Password app. I have it and it works nicely for an old foggy with bad memory problems.

Yep, I have been using 1Password for a few months now... well worth the money!

I cannot recommend 1password highly enough. It by far one of the best Apps for Macs I have used since switching roughly three years ago. The desktop app is so complete now that it has actually replaced another app all together(It replaced LicenseKeeper that kept track of my serials and licenses, a feature that is now part of 1password.) The iphone/ipod touch app is also great.

I've seen a lot of people recommend 1Password, and I tried the trial, it works really nice. Personally though, I use KeepassX, just because I use Keepass on Windows, and I can import my database back and forth, which helps when going back and forth from work and home (Windows at work). If 1Password had a Windows client, I might switch over.

Piling on here: just go with 1Password as most have suggested. I bought my first mac in December 2007 and purchased 1Password in January 2008. I've had no problems with it. It was the Roboform replacement I was looking for.

I use Wallet, but it's better for serial numbers of such.

KeePassX does the same thing as 1Password, and it's free and open source.

I'm a huge fan of 1Password. KeePassX doesn't even compare.

You can also use Disk Utility to create a encrypted disk image, and store your database there.

I believe you can use Bento to make an encrypted database of passwords, and also have plenty of other functionality. And, sync it with the iPhone app if you want that.

Thanks so much for your recommendations people!
I'll be giving 1Password a shot later on today. From the looks of it, its the program that I need.

you could use Keychain which is part of os x and will store passwords and will only show them when the master password is entered.
