Putting a powerpoint on a disc

Ok i want to put a powerpoint on a disc for my speech i have coming up. Can i put the power point on a dvd-r and it will be able to play on most dvd players?

I believe you need a third party program to port them to dvd unless Microsoft has added it in a newer version.
